As the New Zealand Sex Industry is relaxing into it's new legality at a national level, city governments are looking at ways to regulate the business to suit their own agenda's and introduce discriminatory laws against the sex industry.

Many town and city councils are preparing to force some establishments to move to specified city zones, restrict advertising and stop street walkers from soliciting on the streets.

If such moves are successful, and councils are able to regulate against sex work, the communities will lose some of the vibrancy that the sexually open community provides.

And can they do this without imposing more double standards? We think not. Sex is used to sell almost everything, and the proposal to restrict sexy businesses is a narrow minded, ill though out plan that will cause further divisions and alienation within our community.

What is needed is for the city governments to leave the industry alone as is has enough going on in learning itself become more responsible in operating within the existing business laws.

So at the end of the day, will we see this billion $ industry regulated to a city block and shunned by those who think that restriction is good for society?

Or perhaps the regulators just want to retain the status quo, or perhaps they want to retain power over other peoples personal choices when it really is non of their business.

Many school teachers use sexual services, children are sexually aware from early childhood and provided they are not molested or brain washed into thinking sex is bad don't care about sex until they want to do it, and then suffer the hastles associated with learning to have sex. So perhaps we should have brothels near schools and the sex worker could also be sex educaters.
