Sex Work
Over view:
The sex industry can be an
arduous place to work, you have to deal with all
sorts of characters from the lonely hearts that
cannot find a partner, husbands who are at war with
their wives, various kinds of sleaze balls that you
would rather not touch (and should not). Occasionally
you get really nice ones that you could consider as a
partner if only....
Then there is
surviving the morality crusaders, overly religious
and the politically correct, and can you really tell
your friends? Not to mention the law, which in NZ,
quietly turns a blind eye, as long as there is
nothing else going down.
In NZ although
prostitution is still illegal, it is well tolerated
and publicly advertised. The industry is working
toward de-regulation and we hope that in time, along
with proper training for sex workers, this will help
raise the standards and value of the industry. It is
only a matter of time before the status of the sex
worker looses the stigma currently associated with
it.
(At least this is one of the reasons that this web
site came to be)
In past history
prostitutes worked in the temples, their role was
that of a healer, to relieve the sexual tension of
the client and give them reassurance as to their
validity as a Human Being, restore their sense of
self and to encourage them to be more involved in the
temple/ community. In this sense the prostitute was
equal to the priest. Both helped to restore a sense
of soul to the person. Women also utilised the temple
girls, not just the men.
A Sex
Worker Needs to Be:
For many people
orgasm is the highest - peak life experience, or the
closest they ever come to God. Great sex which is
honouring and uplifting is a great healer and it is
interesting that women are once again seeking
sexually supportive men to provide. Many priests have
been dismissed due to following the subconscious
nature to assist women as women assist men who are
stuck in their lives.
With a
Client:
Insist on
using condoms and a water based lubricant
like KY at all times
Make sure
the client has washed and is clean before you
see him/her.
Check your
clients genitals and pubic hair for:
> broken skin
> unusual discharge
> warts
> herpes
> unusual redness around the tip
> lice & crabs
> unusual strong smell
Do not be
embarrassed, you have the right to protect your body
which after all is your business as well. if you get
an infection, you are out of work till it clears.
Sexually
Transmitted Diseases
are your greatest risk. Avoid catching them by
avoiding kissing and allowing clients to kiss or
insert fingers into you.
Make sure
the condom stays on.
Afterwards,
wash with an antibacterial soap
Be
prepared,
If
concerned, ask more experienced sex workers
or visit your local NZPC centre.
