A
Brief History of The Oldest Profession
Sex and the urge
for sex is one of the strongest human desires, no one
knows for how long humanity has existed, but you can
be certain, little has changed over the millions of
years other than the development of modern
technology.
Basically we
all want to have sex because when it's good, it's
one of lifes greatest pleasures.
This sexual
urge aside from feeling good, is driven by the
urge to breed and perpetuate our species.
The third
element is man's worship of the female as the
divine giver of life and the desire to merge with
her.
This desire is also found in woman's desire to
worship men, see
tantra.
So these three
primal drives have always been around and is evident
throughout our short recorded history.
As we look back in
history we see that different societies have treated
sex workers differently.
In some cultures,
sex workers often worked in the temples where the
combination of a good lay to release tensions and the
counsel of the priest put the customer back into
conformity with society.
In more recent
times, the joining forces of the modern church and
state with the development of repressive laws has
forced the sex industry underground, where it
constantly pops out again as it can never be quelled.
So much so that in the world today it flourishes
openly to be sniped at by community standards groups,
criminal elements and the law when they little better
to do.
So what of the
future? It seems that there wll always be a need for
sex workers, we think that it will become more
sociably accepted and integrated into society, and
that sex workers will play an important part in
helping to shape the destiny of humanity.
